Spring Awakening

  Hey Guys,
       I am very excited to be posting today especially since it has been almost three months since my impromptu hiatus from the blogosphere. What can I say, I live in Michigan, and it has positively been the worst winter I have ever experienced. The thought of taking pictures outdoors in this frigid and temperamental weather always sent chills down my spine. So I would say among other personal reasons, my absence has been partly due to an extreme lack of motivation, accompanied by my unproven and nonfactual instinct as a African to hibernate during the winter months LOL.
      Although I made no blog posts, I always followed the trends. With Spring around the corner, I'm going to skip winter completely to highlight some spring trends you should be trying. And yes, I'm back!
Today, I am clad in almost matching striped suit, giving a feminine edge to mens-wear. I'll probably be shooting indoors for a while, as there are 4 inches of snow outside right now and counting.

2013 IN TRENDS

Hey Guys.
       2013 is almost over!
It's been a great year of fashion trends and experimenting with new looks. A year of hits and some misses; but mostly, I've had a lot of fun running this blog even with some of it's accompanying emotional (crazy) moments too. Also getting so much support from you readers and other bloggers. While we make new resolutions and dive into the new year,  lets  take a look at some of our favorite looks and trends of the year.
   Thanks so much to all of you for the support.

I wish you all a great New Year! 2014!!

Maybelline Color Elixir || 3:3

Hello Guys!
         Hope you are having a great weekend so far. Over here in Michigan it's snowing up a storm and we are trying to stay warm.
Today's post features the last of the three part Maybelline Color Elixir Review; this time I am trying out the Raspberry Rhapsody. I have got to admit when I saw this shade I was slightly daunted because it looked like a deep shade of purple. Purple lips just wasn't a shade I had tried yet. However, when applied, it came out in a nice pinkish purple hue which was more my speed and I was happy about the result.. Luckily, I still feel the same way I did about this product as I did the first day I tried on Signature Scarlet or Fuschia Flourish:
The Silky smooth texture and long-lasting pigments makes this a Lazy girl's must have. Look like you spent 10 minutes on your lip makeup, instead of one.

Holiday Outfit with a Flourish|| 3.2

Hello Guys,
          Hope you had a great week, now on to the weekend!
       Today's look features a holiday look and  my second run with the new Maybelline Color Elixir lip gloss in Fuschia Flourish. Just like the Signature Scarlet featured in my previous post, the silky smooth texture and long lasting colored pigments of the gloss win you over each time.
With just a small application, I thought this shade of pink added a soft sweetness to my outfit in contrast with its metallic shades and tough textures of snake skin. My favorite parts of this dress are the draped sides which gives a pseudo-curvy silhouette. Perfect outfit for a holiday party!

Scarlet Lips|| 3.1

Today's post features the first of a three part series/ review of three shades of the new Maybelline Color Elixir lip gloss, received in courtesy of Refinery 29 and Maybelline. I have to admit the timing couldn't have been more perfect. When Refinery and Maybelline contacted me to try out this product, I was searching for a perfect gloss because the cold winter air was causing major havoc to my lips (and my sanity). Dry Chapped Lips, certainly not cute at all.

Today, I'll be taking my fave lip color for a spin; a shade in red, naturally- The "Maybelline Color Elixir in Signature Scarlet"

         I'll keep this simple: Do I love it? Absolutely!
 It's everything you need for a sexy red pout all in one sleek tube. The lipgloss has a nice silky feel and is highly pigmented, I didn't even find the need to reach for my lip stick for more color. Coming from a lip-stick junkie, that says a lot. It's Perfect for the winter months for ladies like me who have "thirsty" lips. I wore this for hours and didn't have to reapply. My other lip products are going to have a major complex soon, or worse turn green with envy.

Outfit
   If you don't want to have to reach for that sparkly dress this holiday season, try this look with a little pop of color, leather details ad sparkly accents!

One LBD: Two Ways

Hey Guys,
           When we think about how to style a black dress, we think neutral or statement shoes to spruce up the outfit. Since almost all of us already know this. I opted to style this sassy black dress form shoproxx a little differently (sans Jacket).
                 1. Pair it with a statement skirt for a holiday party.
The top keeps it elegant and the skirt adds so sparkle and shine to the outfit. It's the holidays and nothing says holiday like a pair of glitter pumps. Try a pair in gold, it glams up any outfit.

 2. For a night out with the girls or for a warmer look, try some tall boots . Also adds some contrast with the short hemline. Top off with a cape or Jacket and have fun with it.

Black Leather Dress and Silver Tones

Hello Guys,

  Hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving holiday. For those of you who do not live in the US, I hope your weekend was delightful.
On Saturday, I went to a fundraiser for National kidney Foundation/ launch of the "Relationship Collection", a new nail polish line. (More details on that soon). This is what I intended to wear but unfortunately made a few changes at the last minute. I wanted wanted to do something a little different with a black leather dress. So I played with silver and black tones, adding a fun belt to accentuate the low waist line. As usual, I couldn't resist adding a white jacket because I am such a fan of mixing black and white tones in an outfit. They almost always turn out looking chic, regardless of the season. Absolutely no fear wearing white in the fall/ winter months for this girl. Be daring and wear your whites this winter, perhaps even a monochromatic look.

       However for the event itself, being such a klutz, I got a mysterious stain on my white jacket so I had to change it up. I kept it simple by opting for a black jacket (not photographed here), changed my jewellery and purse. However, I still loved the result.
